New Collection of Plein Air Paintings
My new collection of small plein air paintings is available now through February 12 on my artist’s FASO website. All the paintings in this collection were painted on location in the plein air style, following in the tradition of European Impressionist painters. The paintings are a spontaneous reaction to what I saw. The brushstrokes are more immediate and less controlled than when I paint in the studio, because there’s no time to “get in my head” when I paint outdoors. That’s because the conditions change so rapidly. Clouds come and go. Shadows move with the sun, growing long, short, or deep. And they can disappear completely when clouds cover the sun or rain moves in. It’s almost always a sprint to the finish! Hop on over to my FASO website where you can look at the paintings in more detail.
